Meet our international sales manager
My name is Maarten Deutekom and I am part of the project developers team at WES. I am an experienced sales manager with a demonstrated history of working in the renewables and environmental industry.
Besides a passion for renewable energy, I have a passion for sports, especially football and cycling, and for traveling, particularly to Southern European countries like Italy and Greece.
I have a background in (sports) marketing following a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). This study focused on Commercial Economics at HES School of Economics and Business in Amsterdam.
I started my professional career in 2011 at the company AGU B.V. in Alkmaar. AGU delivers nearly everything that is for sale in a bicycle shop, with the exception of the entire bicycle.
In 2015, I joined WES to transform the marketing strategy and to define how WES sells wind turbines nowadays.
I aim to bridge the gap between the investor needs and the project developer and landowners benefits. By leveraging the sustainability, revenue, and functional benefits of distributed wind energy solutions. I work with project developers and investors throughout Europe. Allowing them not just to be future proof, but also to be progressive in renewables within their industry and markets.
Having the necessary experience and knowledge, WES is simultaneously focusing on high volume projects, as well as targeting international project developers, financial institutions, investors and governmental organizations around the world. We a have a specific focus to further develop our distributed wind energy solutions for isolated and weak grids within the 400 volts distribution network.
As Project Developer at WES, I work with local project developers and partners in Southern Europe, to bring the continent’s most reliable medium sized wind turbines to their customers. Currently from head office in Spanbroek given the Covid-19 implications. But I am looking forward going abroad again once the situation allows it. For now, Un saluto speciale ai miei amici in Italia, a presto!

If you have any questions for me about project development in Southern Europe, or any other wind related topic, please get in touch with me.
In these difficult times, face-to-face meetings are hard to arrange. But I’m glad to be in contact with you via E-mail or (video)call.
